Technical and Aesthetic Properties (D2)

This document will evaluate how well our advertising brief meets the guidelines that we set out in our client brief at the start of this unit. The Trailer The trailer that we created uses a combination of scenes from our opening sequence and scenes that we filmed specifically for the trailer. The aim of this trailer was to present the movie as a normal high school movie with a twist. I think that this trailer presents the movie as a typical horror movie. This isn't necessarily a bad thing because we can surprise people by having it start off like a high school movie and then gradually incorporate horror elements into it.  This meets the brief that we made because we are trying to raise awareness about mental illnesses, so by presenting the different characters as typical teenagers we are also showing that mental illnesses can affect anybody at any time. The following is the first trailer for Umbra Hominis. It is short in the hopes that people won't skip it, but that it will give them enough information for them to want to learn more about it. The following are the two Spotify adverts that we have created. The aim of them is to show how distressed the main character is and to show the progression of their psychosis by making them sound more and more desperate for help. These adverts would be run with a 4 month gap between them. This is because a gap of 4 months is a reasonable time-frame for somebody who has run out of medication to progress to the point where they are desperate for any help at all. Due to the adverts being on Spotify they would be unskippable and would only play for people who don't use the premium version. This means that we will be doing general advertising to a large range of people as their is no way of knowing if people are interested in horror movies or not. We have limited funding,...

Advertising Pitch Script The following is a pitch about the advertising for Umbra Hominis. The following is an email chain between myself and the client following the pitch.  As I was unable to be a part of the pre-recorded pitch, I took responsibility for client liaison. The following is the script for our advertising pitch presentation. Each of the paragraphs is for a new slide on the PowerPoint.
